  • Daddy's Girl

i I thought it was time for an updated photo, so I hooked up ye olde webcam and tried a few shots ...wasn't really happy with any of them.  But low and behold, Princess Elizabeth joined me and I knew what was missing!   My beloved little girl, cute as a button, almost eight and growing up so fast it boggles the mind ...........Mommy Gracie posted today about her pretend wedding, so I thought it was a great time for a photo op!

Enough already! Are you ever going to post to your blog again???

My beloved bride, the eloquent, empathetic, and sometimes ebullient Gracie, has by now I'm sure, given up on finding a new post from the wild and elusive Grizzy, oft mentioned but never seen. It's been over a year since I started this blog and since I last posted.  A year that included starting a new job and moving (back) to Indiana.  And, not that I'm making excuses, but a 50 plus-hour work week leaves me little time for on-line endeavors, or other earthly pleasures, for that matter.  It's 10:30 on Saturday morning, and garsh, I'm getting sleepy just typing this!
Somedays I barely have the energy to clean up my junk mail..  Sad......very sad.  My seven (soon to be eight) year old daughter's bedtime is 8:30.  I'm usually ready to hit the sack before her.  I stretch my nocturnal limits to 10:00 pm some nights (if "House" isn't a rerun)  I still can't get over Hugh Laurie in this role after watching him for years in British shows ("Black Adder", "Jeeves and Wooster").....but I digress...the wife refers to Friday nights as my '12 hour naptime'  yes, sometimes, but Hey, when you get up at 5:30am during the week, even 7 is sleeping in.
Alright, I do use a computer at work, and I check my email once in a while (on a break, of course}  but gratuitous blogging in the workplace is frowned upon, if not downright against corporate internet policy.  I use multiple screens for at least three different programs , two different outlook accounts, various security log-ins that time out periodically, so I have to re-log on 50 times throughout the day.  Fortunately, since I got my new glasses last month my eyes aren't so totally fried by the end of the day.  Where was I going with all this?  Oh, BLOGGING!
The point is, at home I don't always want to sit down in front of a computer monitor.  Vegging in front of the boob tube doesn't count, and I tend to surf channels, my excuse to my wife being, that inevitably when I finally find something I want to watch, I subsequently fall asleep.  Consequently, if it really was a boob tube, it might keep my attention.  Nevertheless, with some exceptions, there are only so many episodes of  "Everybody Loves Raymond", "The King of Queens", or "Seinfeld" I can watch at one time, these being the main programs on our cable network at the present time.
My aforementioned beloved Bride is  a prolific reader of multiple blogs, and is often reading to me from different forums and sites she frequents.  So I'd like to think that I don't miss the really good stuff.  And any one who is reading this is probably up to date on our history from reading Gracie's blog anyway.  But no excuses.
I guess it's time I get off my ethernetically lethargic arse and start blogging again.
                                                                                                       see you in cyberspace.....
